To Bless The Space Between Us

Curated by Misa Chappell

We are starting a new tradition.

Join us for the closing ceremony of To Bless The Space Between Us at The Design Lab an exhibit showcasing work that responds to the theme of addiction. We will symbolically bless the work as it moves to a new home (tbd). If you are interested in purchasing any of the pieces (if they are for sale), you will be able to take them home with you that night.

Our goal with this nomadic exhibit is to tour it around the community. We are hopng that this exhibit ebbs and flows, changes and grows, much like the process for recovery. Bring art that you'd like to submit or ideas of where the exhibit should go next.

Common Folk's mission is to inspire creativity, support local and emerging creators, and positively contribute to our community. This exhibit meets all aspects of this mission.

We especially seek artists who are in the process of dealing with their own addictions. In an effort to stamp out the stigma that plagues individuals who seek recovery, we encourages artists to explore how art can be a catalyst for change within themselves and within the community.

There is hope that this exhibit will tour the community and build over time. If you are interested in getting involved, please come to the event and talk with us about your ideas. Or join us for our Public Meeting on November 9th.

To submit a piece of art contact xomisa@gmail.com.

Or, you can submit work in person on Tuesdays from 2pm-6pm or Wednesdays from 11am-2pm. Please go into the Gallery 51 side and see the attendant for more details.
